Governor Kim Youngrok of Jeonnam made a surprise visit to all departments at the provincial main office on the afternoon of the 14th. It is reported that Governor Kim's visit was carried out without prior notice.

Governor Kim and all employees welcomed the new year without a year-end party or opening ceremony, as they worked day and night to manage the aftermath and support the bereaved families following the Jeju Air disaster that occurred on December 29th.
