Disaster Medical Response in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province Governor's Commendation Award

Highly Praised Emergency Medical Response
During the Arisel Factory Fire

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it received the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Commendation in the field of disaster medical response for 2024.

The disaster medical response commendation is awarded to institutions that have contributed to the field of disaster medical response by providing rapid emergency medical support during disasters with multiple casualties.

Last June, the city was highly praised for its efforts during the Arisel factory fire accident in Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong City, where it dispatched a rapid response team and operated an on-site emergency medical center, focusing on ▲emergency treatment of the injured ▲securing hospitals for transfer ▲transporting casualties and other on-site medical responses.

In particular, even after the accident, the city assigned dedicated personnel to the medical institutions where the transferred patients were admitted to conduct monitoring, and continuously provided follow-up support such as psychological treatment and medical assistance for disaster accident victims and their families.

Gwak Maeheon, head of Hwaseong City Western Public Health Center, said, "We will continue to make efforts to strengthen the local emergency medical system."
