Busan Office of Education Opens SW·AI Education Hub Center

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) announced on the 14th that it will hold the opening ceremony of the SW·AI Education Hub Center (formerly Deokcheon Girls' Middle School) located on Uiseong-ro, Buk-gu, at 3 p.m. on the 16th and will begin full-scale operation.

The SW·AI Education Hub Center is an advanced digital education space designed to realize the future education vision of the Busan Office of Education. It will offer various programs such as education, exhibitions, experiences, and content creation to enhance the digital capabilities of students, parents, and faculty members.

The center was built with a total floor area of approximately 7,225.45 ㎥ (4 floors above ground).

The first floor consists of exhibition and experience spaces including Museum D (immersive video experience), Art Space (interactive digital art viewing), XR Stage (virtual reality and augmented reality experiences), Archive D (sharing and viewing of center education data), Lounge D (rest area), and Space Bar (dining area).

Floors 2 to 4 are equipped with nine distinctive educational spaces, including the mission-solving experience space called ‘Ground D,’ Data Science Lab, Coding Lab, Metaverse Lab, Robot Park, AI Square, Game & Sound Lab, eSports Park, New Media Studio, and AI Create Lab.

About 50 people, including education office officials, members of the Busan Education Committee, the mayor of Buk-gu, and parent representatives, are expected to attend the opening ceremony. The main events will include △ unveiling of the pillar sign △ ribbon cutting △ guest speeches △ and a tour of the center’s facilities. Attendees will directly experience the exhibition and experience spaces and educational facilities to feel the potential of SW·AI education.

Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong said, “The SW·AI Education Hub Center will serve as a core space leading digital education innovation, providing new learning opportunities for students and faculty members,” adding, “It will greatly contribute to fostering digital literacy and creative thinking skills to prepare for future society.”
