Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will start selling 'Songpa Love Gift Certificates' worth a total of 10 billion KRW at 1 PM on the 15th, ahead of the major traditional holiday, Seollal.
This year, the district will distribute gift certificates worth 10 billion KRW, which is 2.5 times the amount distributed during last year's Seollal. The sales amount was increased to stimulate the depressed consumer sentiment of residents and support small business owners to revitalize the local economy during the extended six-day Seollal holiday period.
In particular, the gift certificates can be purchased at a 5% discount off the face value, making it economical. The purchase limit per person is 500,000 KRW, and the holding limit is 1,500,000 KRW. For example, to purchase the maximum amount of 500,000 KRW worth of gift certificates, you only need to pay 475,000 KRW, which is the 5% discounted price.
The 'Songpa Love Gift Certificates' can be used like cash at about 15,000 Seoul Pay affiliated stores within the district immediately after purchase. Consumers can reduce household expenses through discounted purchases of the gift certificates, and a 30% income deduction is also available, providing substantial benefits. The transaction fee is 0%, which also helps stabilize the management of local small business owners.
To purchase and use the gift certificates, you must download the 'Seoul Pay Plus' mobile app on your smartphone. A district official said, "Since there are often many users accessing at the same time, it will help to download the app in advance and complete pre-procedures such as signing up and registering payment information for smooth purchases on the sales day."

The district expects that this issuance of gift certificates, timed with the high prices during the holiday season, will lead to reduced household burdens and increased consumption, becoming a new driving force for the struggling local economy.
