Pre-orders Begin for Updated ID.4, Starting at 53 Million KRW
Deliveries Scheduled for Q1 and First Half of This Year
Volkswagen Korea is accepting pre-orders ahead of the domestic launch of the coupe-style pure electric sports utility vehicles (SUVs) ID.5 and the 2025 model year ID.4.
On the 14th, Volkswagen Korea announced that it will proceed with pre-orders for the two vehicles. The ID.5 is Volkswagen Korea's second pure electric vehicle introduced to the Korean market. It is a compact-sized model featuring unique aerodynamic performance and design.
With dimensions of 4600 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and 1620 mm in height, it is 15 mm longer and 5 mm lower than the ID.4, which shares the same MEB platform. The wheelbase (distance between front and rear axles) is 2765 mm. Designed in a coupe form with a sloping rear, it maximizes aerodynamic performance, achieving a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.26. Despite this, the trunk capacity is a basic 549 liters, expanding to 1561 liters with the second-row seats folded.
Volkswagen Korea is also accepting pre-orders for the 2025 model year ID.4. The electric drive system has been improved and new advanced features have been added to enhance product appeal. An intuitive large-screen new infotainment system is standard on all models, and the voice assistant 'IDA' has been applied.
Both vehicles are equipped with Volkswagen's new electric drive system, delivering a maximum output of 286 horsepower (PS) and a maximum torque of 55.6 kgf·m. Compared to the previous ID.4, the maximum output has increased by 40%, and the maximum torque by 75%. Both vehicles accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.
For the 2025 model year ID.4, the certified driving range per single charge has increased to a combined 424 km (urban 451 km, highway 391 km). The government-certified energy consumption efficiency is 4.9 kWh per 100 km combined (urban 5.2 km/kWh, highway 4.5 km/kWh).
The ID.5's certified driving range is the longest among Volkswagen Korea's pure electric vehicles, at a combined 434 km (urban 460 km, highway 402 km). The government-certified energy consumption efficiency is 5.0 km/kWh combined (urban 5.3 km/kWh, highway 4.6 km/kWh).
Both vehicles are equipped with an 82.836 kWh capacity battery. They support fast charging at up to 175 kW. It is explained that with fast charging, the battery can be charged up to 80% capacity in about 28 minutes.
The official sales prices are 60,990,000 KRW for the ID.5 Pro (single trim release), and for the 2025 model year ID.4, 52,990,000 KRW for the Pro Light and 59,990,000 KRW for the Pro. All prices include value-added tax after tax benefits. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter for the ID.4 and during the first half of the year for the ID.5. Detailed information can be confirmed at Volkswagen Korea's nationwide showrooms.
Til Schar, CEO of Volkswagen Korea, stated, "We have expanded the choices for Volkswagen electric vehicle customers by improving the ID.4, which has been consistently loved in the Korean market, and launching the attractively designed ID.5. We will make this year the first year of Volkswagen Korea's full-scale electrification strategy."
