Woongjin ThinkBig Wins Top Innovation Award
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 13th that ten companies supported by research and development (R&D) received innovation awards at CES 2025, which concluded on the 10th in Las Vegas, USA.
These companies include Woongjin ThinkBig, Artizen Space, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Onoma AI, Creative Mind, Gaudio Lab, Carat Fund, Newjak, Versys, and Hanyang University. In particular, Woongjin ThinkBig won the top innovation award for developing augmented reality educational content utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
The Korea Creative Content Agency also operated a joint pavilion at the event. Twelve organizations participated, including Onoma AI, Creative Mind, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Omotion, Illuni, JamJam Therapeutics, Cultural Heritage Technology Institute (TRIC), Pampy, Bolt Micro, Real Design Tech, Kai, and CG Pixel Studio, showcasing various cultural technologies such as AI, digital heritage, virtual humans, and AI-based webtoons.
Yoo Hyun-seok, Acting Director of the Korea Creative Content Agency, said, "We helped attract investment by promoting K-content fused with the latest technologies," adding, "We will actively seek various support measures to discover innovative companies leading the future K-content industry and to expand research and development achievements."
