Appointment of Middle and High School Volunteer Group Held at Dongdaemun-gu Office on the 11th
Regular Activities Begin with Bread-Making Volunteer Work in February and Continue Through December
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) successfully held the inaugural ceremony of the youth volunteer group ‘TinTinVol’ 1st generation on the 11th at the in-house academy located on the basement 2nd floor of the district office.
‘TinTinVol’ is an abbreviation of ‘Thirteen-Eighteen Volunteer,’ a name created to capture the lively and vibrant image of teenagers.
This year, a total of 30 middle and high school students will participate and engage in various volunteer activities.
At the inauguration ceremony, appointment letters were presented along with an encouragement speech from the district mayor, and the students shared their commitment to volunteer work through a volunteer oath. Following this, Kim Do-hoon, a student from Dongguk University High School affiliated with the College of Education, who was elected as the leader of the volunteer group, expressed his confident aspiration, saying, “I will do my best to lead the volunteer group well.” Participating students showed their passion for volunteering, stating, “We want to feel a sense of fulfillment through regular volunteer work.”
On this day, the district mayor encouraged them by saying, “Volunteering is much more difficult and valuable when done consistently rather than just once or twice. I am truly proud of all of you who have participated with such admirable hearts, and I respect you regardless of age.”
The 1st generation of TinTinVol plans to continue a total of 10 regular volunteer activities from February, starting with bread-making volunteering, through December. In May, a workshop will be held to strengthen teamwork, and at the end of the year, activities will conclude with a performance sharing meeting and a closing ceremony.
