Mokpo Coast Guard Urgently Transfers Six Emergency Patients from Islands on Weekend and Holidays

Mokpo Coast Guard (Chief Kwon Oseong) received a total of six emergency patient reports from island areas during the past weekend and holidays, and dispatched patrol vessels and other resources to safely transport all six patients to the mainland.

According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 13th, at around 11:34 p.m. on the 10th, a report was received from the Hongdo Health Center in Sinan-gun that patient A (female, in her 90s) was suffering from severe abdominal pain and difficulty breathing. She was urgently transported to the mainland using a nearby patrol vessel and handed over to the 119 rescue team.


At around 9:38 a.m. on the 11th, patient B (female, in her 80s) with high fever and difficulty breathing was safely transported from Bigeumdo, Sinan-gun to land via a coastal rescue boat from the local police station. On the same day, emergency patients were also reported in Jodo, Jindo-gun; Shini-do, Damuldo, and Haeuido, Sinan-gun, for various reasons such as general weakness, suspected gastrointestinal bleeding, finger amputation, low blood pressure, and decreased consciousness. The Coast Guard made every effort to ensure their safe transfer.


A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "Even on weekends and holidays, we will do our best to protect the lives of emergency patients in island areas."
