Kim Dong-yeon: "The First Step to Ending the Rebellion Is President Yoon Voluntarily Coming Forward for Investigation"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon claimed that the first step to ending the insurrection is for President Yoon Seok-yeol to come out of the presidential residence on his own and undergo investigation.

At the ‘2025 New Year Press Conference’ held at a restaurant in Suwon on the 13th, Governor Kim stated, "Ending the insurrection is crucial for the reconstruction of our economy, and the first step to ending the insurrection is for President Yoon Seok-yeol to come out on his own and appear before the investigative authorities."

He continued, "Currently, the situation is escalating to conflicts between state agencies over the arrest of President Yoon," and lamented, "Where is the boldness to take legal and political responsibility for what he has done? Instead, he is hiding in the presidential residence, illegally mobilizing the security office, and refusing to cooperate with the investigation."

He reiterated, "The quickest way to end the insurrection is to come out on his own and undergo investigation," adding, "It is also important for the Constitutional Court to expedite its ruling on the impeachment motion."

Furthermore, he emphasized, "It is necessary to punish those individuals and forces who planned, conspired, participated in, and abetted this insurrection from the beginning," and stressed, "Strict punishment must be carried out so that no one in the Republic of Korea ever dares to dream of such illegal martial law or insurrection again."
