Jeong Gwanghyeon, Suncheon City Council Member, Wins Manifesto Promise Award ... Excellence Prize in Ordinance Category

Contribution to the Enactment of the "Ordinance on the Protection and Support of Jeonse Fraud Victims"

Jung Kwanghyun, a member of the Suncheon City Council (representing Hyang, Maegok, Samsan, Jeojeon, and Jungang-dong), received the Excellence Award in the "Outstanding Ordinance" category at the 16th 2024 Local Council Member Manifesto Promise Awards, organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the Manifesto Headquarters).

The "Manifesto Promise Awards" are presented to local council members who have contributed to strengthening the capabilities of local councils, regional development, the improvement of residents' welfare, and the enhancement of quality of life. Awardees are selected in two categories: "Pledge Implementation" and "Outstanding Ordinance."

Jung Kwanghyun was recognized for his contributions to establishing practical support measures for victims of Jeonse fraud through legislative activities, including enacting the "Suncheon City Ordinance on the Protection and Support of Housing Tenants and Jeonse Fraud Victims," holding a meeting with stakeholders affected by Jeonse fraud, and proposing a resolution urging the passage of the "Special Act Amendment for Effective Measures for Jeonse Fraud Victims."

Jung Kwanghyun stated, "It was my natural duty to pay attention to the victims suffering from Jeonse fraud," and added, "I believe this award is a meaningful encouragement that calls for even greater dedication to the citizens. I will continue to communicate and empathize with citizens in the field and actively engage in legislative activities for the advancement of local autonomy."
