Gyeongbuk Farmers' Academy to Recruit 1,149 Future Agriculture Talents... 46 Courses Over 3 to 10 Months

From the 13th to February 7th, Gyeongbuk Province will recruit 1,149 trainees for 46 educational courses at the 2025 Gyeongbuk Farmers' Academy over a period of 26 days.

Applicants must be farmers or fishermen with cultivated land in the Gyeongbuk area. They can obtain the application form from the Gyeongbuk Farmers' Academy website or the agricultural education department of their city or county office. After attaching proof of farming or fishing (such as Agricultural Management Entity Registration Confirmation, Livestock Business Permit, etc.), applicants can apply online through the website or submit the application by fax or mail to the respective educational institution for each course.

Once the application is complete, interviews for each course will be conducted from February 11th to 16th, and the final successful candidates will be notified on February 21st.

Each course will be operated for 3 to 10 months on a weekly or biweekly basis on designated days at 23 specialized educational institutions, including Kyungpook National University.

This year’s courses actively reflect the voices of farmers and fishermen in the field. The curriculum has been significantly strengthened in practical cultivation technology education, focusing more on hands-on training rather than theory, by expanding problem-solving field-specialized cultivation technology courses linked with leading local farms that attracted attention from last year’s trainees (apple, peach, export strawberry).

Eleven courses that failed to keep up with modern agricultural trends or received low satisfaction ratings from trainees have been boldly discontinued, while ten new or reorganized courses have been introduced, including agricultural food processing courses leading the globalization of K-Gyeongbuk Food.

Kim Ju-ryeong, Director of the Agriculture, Livestock, and Distribution Bureau of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, “The Gyeongbuk Farmers' Academy has a systematic education system that other provinces envy. We will support the cultivation of professional agricultural managers who will lead the great transformation of Gyeongbuk agriculture by providing field-centered and practical education.”

Meanwhile, since its inception in 2007, the Gyeongbuk Farmers' Academy has produced 27,476 graduates over 18 years and has contributed to the development of local agriculture and fisheries through the dissemination of knowledge and technology.
