The two companies will establish a domestic production system for consumable gas turbine parts and an integrated management system, and will enter into contracts for routine and planned maintenance. They also plan to create synergy in gas turbine-related fields through mutual technical support for emergency services and cooperation on gas turbine performance enhancement technologies.

This collaboration is expected to lead the localization of the domestic gas turbine aftermarket service market and help gas turbine users achieve cost reductions in operations.

Hanwha Power Systems has been pursuing carbon-free power generation technology development since acquiring the U.S. company PSM in 2021, in line with the government’s carbon neutrality goals. It has taken the lead in domestic gas turbine technology localization by strengthening its capabilities in supplying power plant equipment parts both domestically and internationally, as well as its expertise in long-term maintenance service agreements (LTSA).

Lee Gu-young, CEO of Hanwha Power Systems, said, "Starting with aviation gas turbine engines, we have succeeded in developing partial load operation and eco-friendly combustors, and by adding Korea Plant Service’s technology, we expect to provide differentiated services." He added, "This will serve as a cornerstone for strengthening national competitiveness and expanding market development by enhancing the self-reliance of domestic gas turbine parts, repair technology, and maintenance capabilities."
