Zuckerberg: "Apple, which stopped innovating... Nothing remarkable in 20 years since the iPhone"

Zuckerberg Criticizes Apple on Podcast
"Hasn't Invented Anything Great for a While"
"30% Fee for Developers is Crazy"

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, strongly criticized Apple, saying "Apple has stopped innovating." On the 12th (local time), the US CNBC reported, "In an interview with the largest US podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' Zuckerberg evaluated that 'Apple has not developed anything remarkable in the past 20 years since Steve Jobs' iPhone.'

In the interview, Zuckerberg said, "The iPhone was great in one way. Now almost everyone in the world has a mobile phone, and thanks to the iPhone, quite amazing things have become possible," but added, "On the other hand, Apple created many rules on that platform that seem arbitrary, and since then, it has not invented anything great for a while."

He said, "New iPhone models are not significantly improved compared to previous ones," and "This causes consumers to take a long time to change phones, which is the reason Apple is struggling with iPhone sales." He continued, "Not releasing many innovative products is a serious problem," and analyzed, "If this continues, even Apple could eventually fall behind in the competition."

Zuckerberg also criticized Apple's 'in-app payment' system. "So how is Apple making more money? Basically, by squeezing people more and making them buy more connected accessories, they impose a 30% tax on developers," he said, calling it "crazy."

Apple charges a 30% commission to app developers whenever users download paid applications or purchase items through the Apple App Store on iPhones or iPads. This has sparked significant backlash worldwide, and last year, the US Supreme Court effectively ruled it as monopolistic behavior.

Zuckerberg added, "Apple makes cool products like AirPods, but it thoroughly obstructs others from making something that can connect to the iPhone in the same way."
