Gyeonggi-do Small Library 'Satisfaction with Idolbom Reading Program'

It has been found that the user satisfaction rate for the ‘Small Library’ child care reading culture program supported by Gyeonggi Province is over 96%.

This project combines child care and reading culture programs at small libraries to provide niche care, aiming to address blind spots in child care. Last year, 79 small libraries in 21 cities and counties within the province, including Yongin, Hwaseong, and Hanam, participated, supporting a total of 879 elementary school children.

Gyeonggi Province conducted a satisfaction survey targeting parents of cared-for children for three weeks from November 11 to 29 last year to collect user feedback for program improvement. The survey covered ▲project content ▲care provision ▲reading culture program ▲project satisfaction, among other aspects.

As a result, in the project content section, 74% responded “strongly agree” and 22% “agree” to the question of whether the process of project participation and child recruitment was fair, showing a 96% positive response rate. The “care provision” question, which asked whether the care operation hours and return home management were safe, showed a 98% satisfaction rate.

Additionally, 98% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the reading program content and their intention to participate again in the project.

Gyeonggi Province has increased the support budget for small libraries providing the child care program from 22 million KRW to 24 million KRW per location. Starting this year, the timing of the winter vacation care program will be advanced to eliminate care gaps, and a safe care environment will be created through disaster safety education.

Information about the child care small libraries can be found on the Gyeonggi Province Cyber Library website (library.kr).

Park Min-kyung, Director of the Library Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The care project centered on small libraries in the province provides emotional stability to children and greatly helps working parents," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with the local community to create a safe and enjoyable care environment through reading."
