On the 11th, Lee Hyun-jae, Mayor of Hanam City, said this during a dialogue with residents held at Misa 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center. He stated, "The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Metropolitan Area Wide-area Transportation Committee (DAEGANGWI) has approved the basic plan for the construction project of the Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju Line (an extension of Subway Line 9), and the project is now being actively promoted."

The 'Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju Line Metropolitan Railroad' is a railway line project with a total budget of 2.824 trillion KRW, constructing eight stations from Gangil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul to Misa Riverside City in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, to Wangsuk New Town in Namyangju, and Jinjeop 2 District. DAEGANGWI approved the basic plan for this line in December last year.

Notably, in this basic plan, the turnaround point for regular trains was changed from the previously planned 942nd station (tentatively named Godeok Gangil 1 District Station) to the 944th station (tentatively named Shinmisa Station).

Regarding this, Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, "As a result of persuading related organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Seoul City, and Gyeonggi Province in cooperation with Gangdong-gu, we were able to extend the turnaround point for regular trains to the tentatively named Shinmisa Station." He added, "We will continue to coordinate with Seoul City on train operation plans to ensure that both regular and express trains operate together."

Additionally, Mayor Lee announced that by securing the Gyeonggi Province Special Adjustment Grant (Special Grant), the 'Seondong IC Ecological Bridge Landscape Lighting Installation Project' can proceed.

Mayor Lee stated, "Many citizens have expressed that the entrance to Seondong IC is dark, but thanks to securing the Gyeonggi Province special grant this time, we can proceed with the installation of landscape lighting on the Seondong IC ecological bridge." He added, "We will do our best to make it a representative landscape lighting of Misa Riverside City through a process of gathering residents' opinions."

During the Q&A session, regarding the suggestion to prepare a splendid landmark and gate at the gateway from Seoul City to Hanam City, Mayor Lee responded, "I fully agree with the idea that we should beautifully decorate our city's gateway to enhance the city's brand value." He added, "We will actively seek improvement plans to realize the proposal you mentioned."

Furthermore, in response to a civil complaint about frequent illegal cigarette butt littering near the south side of Misa 8 Complex facing the neighborhood shopping area, Mayor Lee said, "We will conduct education for store merchants to guide them on prohibiting illegal cigarette butt littering and cleaning."

Earlier, during a dialogue with residents held on the 10th at Misa 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center, he stated, "We will make every effort to successfully promote the K-Star World project, which involves creating a K-pop performance hall and other facilities on Misa Island."

K-Star World is a project to establish a K-pop performance hall and film shooting studios on Misa Island, expected to create about 30,000 jobs and generate an economic effect of 2.5 trillion KRW.

Hanam City plans to hold a pre-briefing session for private business operators in November 2024, based on the 2023 revision of the development restriction zone release guidelines and shortened administrative procedures for attracting foreign investment.

Mayor Lee emphasized, "We will consider purchasing the land of the rowing stadium owned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to use it as a site linked to the K-Star World project."

Mayor Lee also pledged to sufficiently gather citizens' opinions regarding the modernization of the comprehensive sports complex. He explained, "When Hanam Comprehensive Sports Complex was first established, the population was 130,000, but now it has increased to 330,000." He added, "We will study solutions to meet the demand for various events and sports activities."

Regarding a question about the impact on commercial districts if a large-scale complex shopping mall is built in Gangdong-gu, Mayor Lee said, "We will devote all efforts to creating an environment for commercial district development." He added, "We will develop the Misa Riverside City commercial district by creating a pleasant environment for walking and presenting various cultural performances."
