Presumed Model Listed on Performance Verification Platform Geekbench
Four Smartphones Appear at the Beginning of Unpacked Event Invitation Video
Speculation of "One Model Added to the Existing Three Models"
Samsung Electronics is showing signs that it will release a thinner version called the 'Slim' for the first time in the Galaxy S series with the Galaxy S25 series scheduled for launch this month.
According to IT media outlets such as SamMobile on the 10th, a product presumed to be the ‘Galaxy S25 Slim’ model (SM-S937U) was uploaded to the electronic device performance verification platform Geekbench the day before. This product is equipped with Qualcomm’s ‘Snapdragon 8 Elite’ chipset.
The Galaxy S25 ‘Slim’ is the first thin version device to be released in Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S series. The industry predicts a thickness of less than 7mm. The thickness of the standard Galaxy S24 model released early last year was 7.6mm. Samsung Electronics has announced plans to apply the AI integrated operating system ‘One UI 7’ to the Galaxy S25 series to enhance user-customized AI functions.
With information about the Slim version being revealed, predictions are gaining momentum that the Slim version will appear at Samsung Electronics’ ‘Galaxy Unpacked 2025’ event held in San Jose, USA, on the 22nd (local time). SamMobile reported, “The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be released at the Galaxy Unpacked event, and it seems that a Slim model will be introduced in addition to the standard, Plus, and Ultra models,” adding, “The event’s teasing video further strengthened this possibility.”
Earlier, a video attached to the invitation Samsung Electronics sent on the 7th to global media and partners depicted four rounded curved corners of phones joined together to form a star-shaped Galaxy AI logo. This led to speculation that the Slim version might be added to the Galaxy S series, which has so far been released only in three forms: standard, Plus, and Ultra.
However, IT media PhoneArena mentioned the low performance scores on Geekbench and predicted, “The scores were likely calculated from an early prototype with unfinished software and experimental hardware,” adding, “It does not seem likely to be unveiled on January 22, the date of the Unpacked event.”
