Oh Se-hoon: "Adding 'Foreign Exchange Charges' to the Opposition's Special Investigation Law on Insurrection? Are You Telling Us to Stay Silent Like Moon Jae-in?"

"Democratic Party Politicizes Even Diplomatic and Security Issues"

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for adding the operation of loudspeakers toward North Korea and the distribution of leaflets to North Korea as subjects of investigation for foreign exchange offenses in the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Treason Special Investigation Act' proposed by the party, saying it "defines even our government's legitimate response as acts provoking war."

On the 10th, Mayor Oh stated on Facebook, "North Korea frequently threatens Seoul and provokes indiscriminately by deploying not only drones but also balloons filled with filth," expressing his concerns.

The six opposition parties (Democratic Party, Party for National Innovation, Reform Party, Progressive Party, Social Democratic Party, Basic Income Party) reintroduced the Yoon Seok-yeol Treason Special Investigation Act the day before. The opposition plans to handle the treason special investigation act at the plenary session on the 14th or 16th.

Mayor Oh said, "Does this mean we should remain silent like former President Moon Jae-in when North Korea hurls unspeakable insults and blows up buildings constructed with our taxpayers' money, or behave like Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader, who just says ‘xie xie’ to China?" He added, "At a critical time when we need to resolve national chaos and economic uncertainty, the Democratic Party is politicizing even diplomatic and security issues and using them for domestic politics."

He continued, "Previously, in the first impeachment motion, the Democratic Party suddenly inserted content accusing us of ‘hostility toward North Korea, China, and Russia, and insisting on a bizarre Japan-centered foreign policy,’ but after controversy, they themselves deleted it in the second impeachment motion, didn't they?" He reiterated, "Using security, which is meant to protect the lives and safety of the people, as a tool for political strife is the one thing politicians should never do."

He emphasized, "This ‘chronic disease’ of the Democratic Party is seriously threatening the existence of the Republic of Korea."
