Crackdown on Freight and Passenger Vehicles Parked Outside Designated Garages
Enforcement Conducted to Address Numerous Parking Complaints and Prevent Accident Risks
Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 10th that it will conduct a focused crackdown on vehicles violating overnight parking regulations outside designated garages for commercial freight and passenger vehicles within the city on the 11th to ensure citizen safety.
This crackdown was organized to address complaints such as traffic inconvenience and noise caused by the increase in overnight parking of commercial freight and passenger vehicles outside their designated garages, and to prevent accident risks due to disorderly illegal overnight parking.
Yangju City will form one enforcement team to carry out inspections between midnight and 4 a.m., targeting freight and passenger vehicles parked for more than one hour outside their authorized garages on roads near apartment complexes and side streets in residential areas within the city.
Freight and passenger vehicles found violating the regulations will be subject to administrative actions such as suspension of operation or fines in accordance with the Commercial Freight and Passenger Vehicle Transport Business Act.
A Yangju City official stated, “Through continuous overnight parking enforcement, we aim to eradicate violations of overnight parking by freight and passenger vehicles that threaten citizen safety and raise awareness among transport workers about the seriousness of such violations. We will also conduct regular and occasional crackdowns throughout the year to establish a safe traffic culture.”
