At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2025, the world's largest ICT convergence exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, innovative technologies aimed at improving human life and realizing a sustainable society were unveiled. Marking the Year of the Blue Snake, the core keyword for CES 2025 was selected as 'S·N·A·K·E'.

Samjong KPMG released a report titled ‘Future Industry Trends Seen Through CES 2025’ on the 10th, analyzing the key keywords as Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), Networking, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Kinetic, and Energy.

This year’s CES was held on an expanded scale compared to the previous year, under the slogan ‘DIVE IN,’ which signifies diving into advanced technology, with participation from over 4,800 companies from 166 countries and more than 140,000 visitors. Notably, Korean companies participated in a record high of 1,031 firms, making Korea the third-largest country in terms of company participation after the United States and China.

At CES 2025, cutting-edge mobility technologies and products, including Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), attracted significant attention. Additionally, networking technologies focusing on connectivity between smart homes, connected devices, vehicles, and cities were emphasized.

Following last year’s CES, which showcased the potential of AI, this year’s event highlighted companies’ efforts to enhance AI’s marketability. Technologies that increase the profitability of business models alongside real-life AI applications were introduced. Technologies enhancing human mobility (Kinetic), such as digital healthcare and wearable devices, also stood out. Samjong KPMG identified the top 10 trends at CES 2025 as ▲AI ▲Robotics ▲Mobility ▲Smart Home ▲XR (Extended Reality) ▲Digital Healthcare ▲Lifestyle Tech ▲Space Tech ▲ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) ▲Startups, and examined innovative technologies and products accordingly.

AI is rapidly growing across various industries, with on-device AI technology emerging especially in security-critical areas such as fintech and mobility. AI-based multipurpose robot technologies for home, healthcare, and industrial use were also unveiled. Global automakers like BMW showcased technologies focusing on infotainment systems where displays and vehicle control concepts interact organically. Big tech companies such as Sony Honda Mobility (a joint venture between Sony and Honda), Amazon, and Waymo (a subsidiary of Google) attracted attention with autonomous driving technologies.

In the smart home sector, advanced smart appliances, home robots, and personalized services based on AI and IoT (Internet of Things) were implemented. Industrial XR devices, digital twin technologies, and XR applications in media and entertainment were also introduced. In digital healthcare, health management and treatment technologies utilizing wearables and AI expanded.

In the space tech field, satellite management and space environment data collection technologies were presented, while lifestyle tech integrating advanced technologies into beauty, fashion, and food also stood out. ESG-related technologies such as ‘energy tech’ leading carbon reduction and ‘human security’ were also highlighted.

Korean companies participated with 1,031 firms, marking the third-largest participation scale worldwide. Notably, ventures and startups accounted for over 62% with 641 companies. Startups nurtured by Samsung, Hyundai Motor Group, LG, Naver, and Kakao demonstrated innovative technologies, showcasing the global technological competitiveness of Korean companies.

Seunghoon Yeom, Vice President and Technology Industry Leader at Samjong KPMG, stated, “To respond to rapidly evolving technologies and changing customer needs, companies must act agilely,” adding, “We hope the CES 2025 trend analysis will help our companies proactively respond to changes in the industrial ecosystem and prepare for the future.”
