9-Story Building? Focused on Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation
Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 10th that it will relocate the Dongjak-gu Public Health Center to a new building to provide the best health care services.
The new Public Health Center building (80 Manyang-ro 3-gil, Dongjak-gu) has a total floor area of 4,183.03㎡ and consists of 2 basement floors and 9 above-ground floors. It is located 150 meters away from the current health center. The district plans to complete the relocation and start operations by the 31st of this month.
The new health center houses various medical examination rooms from the 1st to the 4th floors, administrative offices and classrooms from the 5th to the 9th floors, and storage, parking, and mechanical rooms in the basement.
On the 1st floor, a new ‘Rehabilitation Exercise Therapy Room’ and a ‘Correct Posture Center’?which provides services from diagnosis to posture correction?have been established, along with a civil service office and waiting area. The 2nd floor includes the tuberculosis room, vaccination room, pharmacy, Korean medicine clinic, and physical therapy room; the 3rd floor houses the clinical pathology room, radiology room, and health screening room; and the 4th floor contains the health management center, oral health room, and dementia counseling room.
The 5th floor, designated as the administrative area, includes the health center director’s office, health administration department, sanitation civil service office, and radiation measurement room. The 6th floor has the infectious disease control department, smoking cessation clinic, and AI·IoT senior health management room. The 7th floor accommodates the health promotion department and health medicine department, while the 8th floor is home to the maternal and child health center. The 9th floor features classrooms for the ‘Dongjak-gu Citizens Health University,’ scheduled to launch this year, where specialized health lectures will be held.
Until the relocation and commencement of operations at the new building, services will continue at the current health center. However, some services will be temporarily suspended due to the transfer of medical equipment, so visitors are advised to check the health center’s announcements before visiting.
Suspended services include ▲health examination certificates (health certificates), health examination reports, tuberculosis confirmation certificates (January 13?24) ▲bone density tests (January 15?24) ▲blood and urine tests (maternal tests, internal medicine tests, health screenings, etc., January 13?17).
Mayor Park Il-ha stated, “In line with the opening of the new building, we decided to rename the health center as the Health Management Agency to signify the implementation and management of health policies encompassing all local residents. We will do our best to ensure that the Health Management Agency becomes a guardian of health that protects residents’ well-being and supports rehabilitation activities.”
