On the 8th (local time), the American golf media Golf Digest reported, "German sports brand company Puma has filed a lawsuit against Woods' 'Sunday Red' logo." Sunday Red is a golf apparel brand launched last year by Woods in collaboration with TaylorMade after ending his sponsorship contract with Nike.

Puma stated, "Woods' Sunday Red logo is too similar to the company logo that has been used since 1969," and argued, "This golf brand owned by TaylorMade should not use the proposed trademark." They added, "The logos are similar, and the product and service fields overlap," expressing concern about the possibility of consumer confusion.

This is not the first time Sunday Red has been involved in a trademark dispute. In September of last year, portable cooling system manufacturer TigerAir filed a lawsuit with the US Patent Office requesting to block the registration of Sunday Red's trademark, claiming that Sunday Red infringed on their trademark rights. This case is currently under court review.
