Age Limit for Infertility Treatment Support for Couples Removed

Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province is significantly expanding its welfare programs related to pregnancy and childbirth in the new year.

According to the county on the 9th, the usage period for the "First Meeting Voucher" has been extended from one year to two years from the date of birth. The "First Meeting Voucher" is a point-based voucher that can be used like cash for purchasing necessary items for raising a child or for medical expenses. The county provides 2 million KRW for the first child and 3 million KRW for the second child and beyond.

Jangseong-gun to Greatly Expand Pregnancy and Childbirth Support This Year Jangseong County, Jeonnam.

The government-funded infertility treatment support program has abolished previous age restrictions, and the number of supported treatments has been expanded from a limit of 25 times per person to 25 times per childbirth.

Couples who are unable to receive support due to exceeding the government-funded infertility treatment limit can receive "Jeonnam-type Infertility Treatment Support." This year, support for egg freezing procedures and vasectomy/tubal ligation reversal procedures has been added to help effectively address infertility.

The support amount for pre-marital (prospective) couples' health checkups and pre-pregnancy health management is 170,000 KRW for women and 90,000 KRW for men. It is recommended to receive both support programs together if possible.

An official from the county health center stated, "We plan to focus on promoting the newly revised pregnancy and childbirth support programs in the new year to ensure that all infertile couples and pregnant families receive benefits without omission."
