Dementia Prevention Exercise and Awareness Education Conducted

The Jangsu-gun Dementia Relief Center (Director: Wi Sangyang) announced on the 9th that it will conduct an "On-Site Dementia Screening Test" in each village by the 24th.

The county will visit about 40 village halls in the Jangsu-eup and Janggyemyeon areas to provide cognitive dementia screening tests (CIST) for seniors aged 60 and above, along with dementia prevention exercises (brain nerve gymnastics, dementia prevention gymnastics) and dementia awareness education.

If the test results indicate "cognitive decline," patients can receive specialist consultations, neuropsychological tests, diagnostic medical tests, and brain imaging at the affiliated hospital (Jeonju Daejain Hospital), with support for examination fees.

Director Wi Sangyang stated, "If dementia is detected early and treated at an early stage, its progression can be slowed. The Jangsu-gun Dementia Relief Center will continue to provide on-site services to overcome geographical barriers and do our best to eliminate blind spots in dementia care."

Meanwhile, any Jangsu-gun resident aged 60 or older can receive a free dementia cognitive screening test by visiting the nearest Dementia Relief Center, branch, or clinic.
