13,000 Won per Month... Recharge with Buan Sarang Card
Buan County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 9th that it is implementing a menstrual product support program for female adolescents to promote their healthy development.
The program is available to female adolescents aged 11 to 18 who are registered residents of the county, regardless of income level.
However, those who are already receiving menstrual product support under other laws are not eligible to apply for this program.
Applications can be submitted by the adolescent herself or her primary guardian at the local town or township office from June 13 to December 12. Those who received support last year and still meet the eligibility criteria will have their existing cards automatically recharged without needing to reapply.
From the month of application, a monthly benefit of 13,000 KRW will be credited to a Buan Sarang Card, which is exclusively for menstrual products. The card can be used at local convenience stores registered as Buan Sarang Card merchants until the end of the year.
An official from the county stated, "Since support for menstrual products for female adolescents is only provided upon application, we hope that those who missed the concentrated application period in January will make sure to apply and receive support."
