On the 9th, Lee posted on his social media, "I welcome the court's ruling on former Investigation Unit Commander Park," adding, "This administration defied the people's demand to uncover the truth behind the unjust death. It mocked judicial justice and caused the trust in the military to plummet to the lowest point."

Lee said, "No matter how much they try to hide it, the truth will inevitably be revealed and ultimately prevail," and added, "The Democratic Party will intensify efforts to uncover the background and the main source of external pressure related to Marine Chae's death." He continued, "We will ensure that no more precious lives are sacrificed and that the truth is not concealed."

The Central Regional Military Court acquitted former Investigation Unit Commander Park, who was indicted on charges of insubordination and defamation of a superior officer. Park was indicted on October 6 of the same year for allegedly disobeying the order from then-Marine Corps Commander Kim Gye-hwan to withhold transferring the investigation results related to the death of Marine Chae, which occurred on July 19, 2023.

During the sentencing hearing, military prosecutors requested a three-year prison sentence, arguing that Park disobeyed the order to withhold the transfer and damaged the honor of his superior, the Minister of National Defense, thereby negatively affecting the military command system and discipline. Park's defense attorney claimed that he could not obey the order due to illegal external pressure.
