Launch of Self-Support Enterprises Founded and Operated by Self-Support Project Participants on the 1st
District Provides Partial Wage Support + Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Support Center Offers Mentoring and Management Consulting
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) has partnered with the Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Sufficiency Center to support the operation of the cleaning specialized self-sufficiency enterprise ‘Clean Up’ to help low-income residents achieve independence.
‘Clean Up’ is a cleaning specialized company operated by participants in the self-sufficiency project, launched on December 1st with startup support from Dongdaemun-gu and the Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Sufficiency Center.
The company professionally provides cleaning services including ▲school and public institution cleaning ▲building move-in cleaning ▲floor waxing ▲disinfection and pest control.
The Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Sufficiency Center has been providing systematic support by operating various technical training and startup support programs to help low-income workers achieve economic independence.
This time, a participant who acquired cleaning skills at the Smile Cleaning Business Group completed business registration under their own name and received a self-sufficiency enterprise certificate from Dongdaemun-gu to operate ‘Clean Up’.
The district plans to support labor costs for participating workers to ensure the stable operation of the self-sufficiency enterprise.
Byun Mi-sook, Director of the Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, said, “We will provide continuous mentoring and management consulting to ensure the stable operation of the self-sufficiency enterprise,” adding, “We will do our best to build a self-reliant economic model.”
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “I sincerely congratulate the launch of a self-sufficiency enterprise where low-income workers independently register as business owners and operate autonomously,” and added, “We will actively support providing more opportunities for independence to low-income residents in the future.”
The Seoul Dongdaemun Regional Self-Sufficiency Center operates 14 self-sufficiency labor projects including cleaning, car washing, delivery, and convenience store management, as well as social welfare services and case management to support the economic independence of low-income individuals with work ability.
Currently, through various projects including two self-sufficiency enterprises, it provides stable jobs linked to employment and welfare for low-income residents.
