2023 Diagnosis Result: Jumped Three Levels from Grade D to A
High Ratings in All 33 Indicators Across 3 Areas Including Risk Factors and Disaster Management
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) received an 'A grade' in the '2024 Natural Disaster Safety Diagnosis' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This marks a three-level improvement from last year's 'D grade.'
The 'A grade' is the highest rating awarded to local governments ranking in the top 15% nationwide based on the diagnosis evaluation results. Accordingly, the district will receive an additional 2% national treasury support for disaster recovery costs in the event of damage caused by natural disasters.
The Natural Disaster Safety Diagnosis is an evaluation conducted on 228 cities, counties, and districts nationwide under the Natural Disaster Countermeasures Act to strengthen the disaster prevention capabilities of local governments.
The evaluation grades range from 'A grade' to 'E grade,' totaling five levels. Only 34 local governments can be classified as 'A grade.'
This time, the district received high scores in all 33 indicators across three areas: risk factors, disaster management, and facility management, resulting in being awarded the highest diagnosis evaluation grade, 'A grade.'
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Setting the safety of residents as the top priority in district administration and focusing all efforts on disaster and accident prevention led to this highest grade. We will continue to do our best to make Dobong-gu a safe place.”
In addition to receiving the highest grade, the district has achieved remarkable results in disaster safety management. In December last year, it was selected as an excellent district for three consecutive years in the 2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. In the same month, it was also selected as an excellent institution in the '2024 Emergency Preparedness Training Meritorious Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.
