Gwanak-gu to Conduct Public Inspection and Hold Resident Briefing on Sillim 5 District Redevelopment Plan Draft
Resident Briefing on the 23rd, Aiming to Designate Redevelopment Zone in Early 2025
Public Inspection for Redevelopment Plan Establishment and Zone Designation of 'Sillim 5 District' Until the 27th
Gwanak-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) will conduct a public inspection for residents until the 27th for the establishment of the redevelopment plan and designation of the redevelopment zone for Sillim 5 District.
Sillim 5 District is located in the area of 412 Sillim-dong and was selected as a candidate site for the Rapid Integrated Planning Housing Redevelopment Project in December 2022.
This area covers 169,069㎡ and is a mix of Type 1 General Residential Area, Type 2 General Residential Area (7 floors), and Type 3 General Residential Area. Among the 705 buildings in the target area, about 78% consist of old and poor-quality houses, making it a region with strong development intentions from local residents.
The district office has been proceeding with administrative procedures to establish the redevelopment plan (draft) based on the Seoul Rapid Integrated Planning Guidelines finalized in October 2024.
According to the redevelopment plan (draft), Sillim 5 District will be transformed into a large complex with 25 buildings and 3,947 households, with a maximum height of 34 floors. The plan includes a landscape plan considering Dorimcheon Stream and Samsungsan Mountain, as well as the creation of parks within the district, turning it into a residential complex where the city and nature become one.
The district office will conduct a public inspection for residents on the redevelopment plan (draft) from December last year until January 27, and plans to hold a residents' briefing session on the upcoming 23rd to listen to the opinions of landowners and residents.
Afterward, following the hearing of opinions from the district council and consultations with related departments, the district office plans to request the designation of the redevelopment zone to Seoul City as early as March this year.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "We will make every effort to designate Sillim 5 District as a redevelopment zone within the first half of this year," adding, "We will do our best to improve the residential environment for the residents of Gwanak-gu."
