Originally, the city planned to organize a Gwangju delegation including Mayor Kang to participate in 'CES 2025', but due to the need to handle the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, the plan was completely canceled and the scale was minimized, focusing on essential staff.
Mayor Kang connected via online video to personally check each booth of the participating companies at the Gwangju Joint Pavilion. The Gwangju Joint Pavilion features 11 companies exhibiting outstanding technologies and products: Inbiz Co., Ltd., Junctionmed Co., Ltd., Twigfarm Co., Ltd., E-Soltech, Artlab Co., Ltd., IndieJ Co., Ltd., Hogreenair Co., Ltd., Rivertree Co., Ltd., Unicompany Co., Ltd., Ecopis Co., Ltd., and Bluecapsule Co., Ltd.

The city is supporting a total of 15 companies to participate in 'CES 2025', including 11 in the Gwangju Joint Pavilion and 4 in the Gwangju Pavilion within the KOTRA Integrated Korea Pavilion. In addition to supporting applications for the CES Innovation Awards, the city has strengthened programs for global market entry, such as business education and business matching, and plans to maximize results through export support projects even after the exhibition. Including 21 other local companies, a total of 36 companies from the region are participating in 'CES 2025', showcasing their outstanding technological capabilities.
The city expects that 'Gwangju, Korea's Leading AI City' will use this opportunity to showcase its accumulated AI products and technologies to the global market. In particular, it is expected to contribute to pioneering overseas markets and revitalizing exports for local companies.
The Gwangju Joint Pavilion is operated as an open space to enhance convenience and exhibition effectiveness for buyers and visitors. An information booth is installed at the front to provide both exhibition guidance and promote Gwangju City, and the interior space is efficiently organized for company promotion and pitching.
Mayor Kang encouraged company representatives, saying, "CES 2025 focuses on AI and mobility, which shows that the future industrial direction of Gwangju is precisely aligned with global trends. With more companies participating and their capabilities accumulating every year, I am confident this will become a growth engine. Please do your best to promote Gwangju, Korea's leading AI city, to the world, as we have prepared with utmost dedication."
Meanwhile, 'CES' is the world's largest electronics and information and communication technology (ICT) convergence exhibition, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) of the United States. It is held every January in Las Vegas, USA, and offers a comprehensive view of global innovation technologies, products, and market trends. The theme of 'CES 2025' is 'Connect, Solve, Discover. Dive in', aiming to connect technology with technology and technology with people to solve problems and discover new opportunities.
