Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, hinted that he would run for the presidency if an early presidential election is held, while Cho Won-jin, leader of the Our Republican Party, expressed the opinion that Lee would not be able to run in the early election. Regarding the possibility of President Yoon being impeached, Cho said, "Before the presidential election, the so-called 'free right-wing' as a whole must unite," adding, "Otherwise, we cannot stop Lee Jae-myung from coming to power." When asked by the host about the extent of unification through right-wing consolidation, he replied, "Those who hold the position that Lee (Jun-seok) and others must prevent the Democratic Party from coming to power can all go together as one."

Earlier, on December 25 last year, Lee appeared on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' and hinted at a presidential bid. When asked whether he would run if the Constitutional Court ruled in favor of impeaching President Yoon Seok-yeol and an early election was held, he said, "The current situation looks like that."
