Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it successfully completed the "2025 Customized Future Strategy Education for Zucchini Farmers" for 30 local zucchini growers.

The county was selected last November for the "Customized Future Strategy Local Specialty Crop Development Project" organized by the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, and is promoting the "Comprehensive Technology Dissemination Project for Year-round Zucchini Production" this year. Through this, the county plans to expand the scale of zucchini cultivation complexes and establish a foundation for year-round production.

This training focused on building a year-round production system for zucchini and improving cultivation techniques, covering practical and field-oriented topics such as greenhouse management and preparation for heavy snow and cold waves.

Main topics included lectures on maintaining the vigor of zucchini grown in facilities, methods to enhance fruit setting, and managing greenhouse environments during winter. In particular, training on carbon dioxide fertilization and the use of agricultural supplemental LED lighting provided practical information for energy saving and productivity improvement, receiving a positive response from farmers.

After the training, the county held an information session on the "2025 Comprehensive Technology Dissemination Project for Year-round Zucchini Production," sharing the project's direction and support details to help farmers better understand the initiative.

County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "We hope this training will make a practical contribution to improving cultivation techniques and increasing productivity for zucchini farmers," and added, "We will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of local agriculture through ongoing education and support."
