Continued A Grade in First Year Annual Evaluation
Specialized Collaboration and Communication, Customized Learning
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 8th that it received an 'A grade' in the comprehensive evaluation of the 'Local University Revitalization Project' conducted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
This evaluation covered four areas for universities participating in the Local University Revitalization Project (University Innovation Support Project Type 3): collaboration and communication performance between local governments and universities, academic structure and curriculum performance, performance management, and plans linked to the RISE program.
The 'Local University Revitalization Project (University Innovation Support Project Type 3)' is a financial support project by the Ministry of Education that supports mutual growth of universities and regions through specialization of non-metropolitan private universities based on university-local government partnerships. A total of 66 non-metropolitan private universities are participating, and the project period is from June 2023 to February of this year.
Dong-A University was evaluated as excellent in establishing a foundation to overcome the crisis of local universities by serving as a regional innovation hub and promoting collaborative communication for specialization.
Through the conclusion of employment-linked education agreements and operation of curricula, the university received high marks for 'establishing an education-employment linkage system' and 'operating specialized curricula.'
Additionally, reflecting specialized fields, the university was praised for achievements such as 'establishing and operating a Convergence College,' 'obtaining degrees in convergence majors,' restructuring and institutionalizing academic departments and systems, and operating various programs for student-tailored learning support and counseling, which were recognized as 'support for customized specialization fields.'
Oh Dong-yoon, Director of the University Innovation Project Group (Planning Office Chief) at Dong-A University, stated, “Dong-A University is striving to revitalize local universities through operating the Convergence College in specialized fields and appointing industry expert faculty members. In particular, I understand that the results of the Local University Revitalization Project’s performance evaluation will be reflected in the university selection screening for the newly introduced RISE project this year. We will do our best to achieve even better results by linking with the RISE system in the future.”
