Kiwoom Securities "Pension Account Event: Fee Discounts and Various Gift Giveaways"

Kiwoom Securities announced on the 8th that it will hold a special benefits event for pension accounts until March 31, 2025, to celebrate the New Year.

This event allows customers to enjoy both tax savings and investment benefits. Pension accounts are long-term savings products designed to prepare for retirement life. Customers can directly invest in Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), as well as funds and REITs. It is a representative tax-saving product that offers a tax credit of up to 6 million KRW per year on contributions.

During the event period, customers who newly open a pension account or transfer their account from another financial institution to Kiwoom Securities will receive a one-year discount on pension ETF fees.

Additionally, customers who deposit a certain amount or more into their pension accounts will receive Shinsegae gift certificates worth up to 1 million KRW. Customers transferring from banks or insurance companies will have their deposit amounts recognized as double, allowing them to receive greater benefits.

Customers who trade ETFs in their pension accounts will receive additional benefits. Purchasing just one share of the event-targeted ETFs can earn up to five Starbucks Americanos, and purchasing over 2 million KRW worth can earn additional department store gift certificates worth up to 150,000 KRW. These benefits are available upon meeting conditions set by each asset management company.

Trading ETFs in pension accounts offers tax benefits along with the potential for stable returns through long-term portfolio management. In particular, pension income tax rates (3.3~5.5%) are applied at a lower rate compared to general taxation (15.4%) when receiving pension payments.

If ISA maturity funds are deposited into a pension account within 60 days, an additional tax credit of 10% of the deposit amount, up to a maximum of 3 million KRW, is provided.
