Providing New Attractions Within the Commercial Area

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 7th that a lighting ceremony was held on the 6th at the Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Market area for the creation of the Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Light Street.

The Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Light Street was created as part of the Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Market commercial district revitalization project, consisting of the main street (Raon Madang to Baskin Robbins, both directions) and the side street (Bada Butcher Shop to Cheonga Flower Shop, one direction). The main intersection’s gobos project images depicting the four seasons of local tourist attractions, providing new visual attractions within the commercial district.

Yangpyeong-gun expects that the creation of the Yangpyeong Mulmalgeun Light Street will establish its position in the central region’s tourism and cultural belt while revitalizing the surrounding commercial areas overall.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon walked along the light street with local residents who attended the lighting ceremony to inspect the project site, saying, “Just like the warm light of the illumination, I hope the lives of our residents will become warmer this year.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to revitalize the local commercial district.”
