From October to December last year, the county collected indiscriminately discarded waste banners in cooperation with the Wando Outdoor Advertising Association. The Wando County Disabled Persons Association participated in the project by producing 1,533 sacks for collecting marine debris from the recycled banners. These sacks will be distributed to towns and villages for marine debris collection, and will also be given to residents for free through environmental campaigns.
A county official said, "Recycling waste banners reduces disposal costs and environmental pollution, and producing sacks can also provide jobs for residents. We will continue to raise awareness of the importance of resource recycling and strive to practice carbon neutrality."
