Gapyeong-gun Adds 6 Smart Shelter Bus Stops... Total 10 Locations

Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it has newly established and officially started operating six smart shelters (simple rest shelters) at bus stops since the 2nd.

The newly installed smart shelters are located at six bus stops including Rail Bike, Gapyeong Station (front and opposite side), Cheongpyeong Station (front and opposite side), and Daeseong-ri Station.

Previously, smart shelters were only operated at four locations: the entrance of Myeongjisan, the sports complex, Cheongpyeong Terminal (Seoul direction), and Hyeon-ri Terminal (Seoul direction).

Inside the smart shelters, convenience facilities such as heating and cooling systems, wireless chargers, climate information devices, unmanned access control systems, security CCTV, and wireless Wi-Fi are equipped. Outside, heated and cooled seats have been installed at Gapyeong Station (front and opposite side) and Cheongpyeong Station (opposite side).

Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rail Bike stop, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in front of Gapyeong Station, and from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the opposite side of Gapyeong Station.

Cheongpyeong Station front operates from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Cheongpyeong Station opposite side from 5:40 a.m. to 10:40 p.m., and Daeseong-ri Station front from 6:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. the next day.

A county official said, “Through the new establishment of smart shelters, both rural residents and visitors are expected to use public transportation in a more comfortable and safe environment,” adding, “We will continue to make greater efforts to improve convenience facilities at bus stops to enhance user convenience.”
