The 'Paju Jangdan Soybean Specialty Store Designation' was established to expand the consumption of Paju Jangdan Soybeans, one of South Korea's representative well-being agricultural products, and targets businesses operating in food service, food processing, and product development using Paju Jangdan Soybeans as raw materials.

Once designated as a Paju Jangdan Soybean Specialty Store, the use of the Paju Jangdan Soybean trademark is permitted. Currently, there are 95 designated specialty stores nationwide; in the second half of 2024, 5 stores renewed their designation, and 8 new businesses were selected.

The application targets for the first half of the year include 39 stores whose certification period expires in the first half of this year and new businesses wishing to be designated as specialty stores. The trademark usage rights are valid for two years from the date of issuance, and the specialty store designation certificate is expected to be issued in February after reviewing application documents and the Agricultural Policy Deliberation Committee.

Businesses designated as specialty stores must thoroughly manage quality during the production and distribution processes of items using Paju Jangdan Soybeans as raw materials. If Paju Jangdan Soybeans are not used or if there is negligence in management, measures such as revocation will be taken.

Businesses wishing to apply must submit documents including the application form, a pledge to comply with quality control and defect recall, and a raw material grain supply plan containing purchase details of Paju Jangdan Soybeans via email or fax. For related information, refer to the 'Paju Jangdan Soybean Specialty Store Designation and Operation Guidelines,' and the relevant forms can be downloaded from the news board on the Paju City Agricultural Technology Center website.
