Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate Offered at Record 15% Discount for the First Time

Up to 500,000 KRW Purchases Allowed in January

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced the launch of a 15% discount sale on the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate as a priming water to revitalize the stagnant local economy.

This discount, for the first time ever, applies equally to both paper and mobile versions of the gift certificate, and will be issued in a record amount of 50 billion KRW for the month of January.

According to sales figures from January 1 to 5, the city recorded a performance of 17.4 billion KRW, marking a successful start.

This figure far exceeds the total sales of 15 billion KRW for the entire month during last September's Chuseok 10% discount event, demonstrating the enthusiastic response from citizens.

The paper version of the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate can be purchased at NongHyup Bank, Suncheon NongHyup, Suncheon Gwangyang Livestock Cooperative, Suncheon Horticultural NongHyup, and Jeonnam Dairy NongHyup within Suncheon City.

The mobile version of the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate can be recharged through the "Local Gift Certificate chak" app. Additionally, the Suncheon Sarang check card can be issued at all NongHyup, Shinhyup, post offices, Saemaeul Geumgo, and Gwangju Bank branches within Suncheon City.

Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon said, "This 15% discount sale was planned to stimulate consumption within the region and support small business owners," adding, "I hope the successful sale of the Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate will thaw the frozen local economy and become a stepping stone for revitalizing the regional economy."
