The Gwangju Urban Railway Construction Headquarters announced on the 7th that it will conduct a safety inspection of the construction sites for Urban Railway Line 2 from the 13th to the 15th, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The inspection will target the Phase 1 construction sections of Line 2, specifically the main sections 1 to 6 (from City Hall to Gwangju Station), excluding the Yuchon-dong vehicle depot.

This inspection will focus on ensuring the safety of above-ground facilities and improving the surrounding environment so that citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday, with a proactive approach to eliminating potential hazards in advance.

The main inspection items include: ▲ traffic safety facilities for vehicles and pedestrians ▲ snow removal and winter weather prevention measures within work and passage areas ▲ temporary fences and safety nets ▲ maintenance of surrounding roads and sidewalks, such as lane markings, steel plate level differences, and potholes.

As a result of the inspection, minor or simple issues will be corrected immediately on-site, while items requiring maintenance will be subject to emergency measures and managed intensively according to a management plan until all risks are resolved.

Oh Younggeol, head of the Gwangju Urban Railway Construction Headquarters, stated, "As this is a time when strict national safety management is required, we will do our utmost to prevent safety accidents without any gaps even during the holiday period."
