Sancheong-gun Selected as an Excellent Local Government for Disaster Prevention Projects in 2024

County Governor Lee Seunghwa: "We Will Do Our Best for the Safety of County Residents"

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has been selected as an excellent local government for disaster prevention projects.

According to the county on the 7th, it was designated as an excellent local government in the 2024 disaster prevention project implementation inspection evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This evaluation, conducted on 1,348 districts across 16 cities and provinces nationwide, involved inspections of safety management at disaster prevention project sites, early project ordering, and prompt budget execution during the first and second halves of last year.

Sancheong-gun received excellent evaluations overall for disaster prevention projects, including the interest level of the head of the institution, maintenance of natural disaster risk improvement districts, and maintenance of steep slope collapse risk districts, leading to its selection as an excellent local government.

Currently, Sancheong-gun is carrying out 13 projects, including the Beoppyeong natural disaster risk improvement district, with a total project cost of 127.339 billion KRW. Additionally, this year, 3 billion KRW will be invested in a new project to maintain the Oksan district natural disaster risk improvement district.
