Proactive Prevention Activities for Livestock Infectious Diseases Begin

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that it awarded certificates of appointment to 10 public veterinarians in the county office to ensure the smooth progress of the livestock quarantine project and maintain an emergency mobilization system.

The appointed public veterinarians will carry out county directives for livestock diagnosis and various livestock infectious disease surveillance and prevention according to the livestock quarantine project plan for one year this year. In particular, they will play an important role in maintaining Hapcheon-gun as a clean livestock product area through foot-and-mouth disease vaccinations and mass testing and blood sampling for bovine brucellosis.

County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol requested at the appointment ceremony, “Please thoroughly perform your duties to minimize inconvenience to livestock farmers through active patrol prevention activities and to prevent the introduction and occurrence of malignant livestock infectious diseases such as lumpskin disease, highly pathogenic AI, and wild boar ASF.”
