Lee Sang-hwi, a member of the People Power Party, edited and posted photos of participants in a rally calling for the arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol as if they were supporters of the president, and deleted them after controversy arose. In response, Jeong Hye-kyung, a member of the Progressive Party, criticized him, saying, "They repackaged and reproduced fake news."
On the 6th, Jeong posted on her social media account, "People Power Party, the 'fake news factory,' wake up." She claimed, "Lee Sang-hwi, chairman of the People Power Party's Media Special Committee, illegally used and edited photos from our office and posted them on his SNS," adding, "He misappropriated them to make it seem as if citizens were desperately fighting to protect Yoon Seok-yeol even amid heavy snowfall."
She continued, "Moreover, based on unverified posts on the workplace community Blind, such as 'A police colleague was injured due to an illegal rally by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU)' and 'They were left in a coma,' they distributed a press release stating that 'left-wing groups like the KCTU are rampant in violating public authority, yet the police are only watching the Democratic Party and KCTU,'" pointing out the issue. She then criticized, "Is repackaging and reproducing fake news what the People Power Party Media Special Committee's Real News Discovery Team is supposed to do?"

Jeong also appealed to media workers, saying, "This was a scene of insurrection witnessed by all citizens, yet publishing the People Power Party's claim that there was no insurrection is producing fake news again," urging, "Please stop such reporting." She emphasized, "Now is the time for everyone to focus on arresting the ringleaders of the insurrection and ending the rebellion from their respective positions."
Earlier, on the 5th, an overnight rally calling for the arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol continued in the Hannam-dong area of Yongsan-gu, Seoul. On that day, Jeong's office also released photos of citizens steadfastly waving light sticks despite the heavy snowfall. Images of participants sitting on the street wrapped in silver thermal blankets due to the sudden snowstorm became a major topic on social media. Subsequently, the participants were nicknamed the "Kisses Group," as their appearance resembled the silver-wrapped chocolate "Kisses."
