As of December 31, 2024, the total hometown love donations for Cheongdo-gun amounted to 325 million KRW, a 33% increase compared to last year's fundraising amount of 244 million KRW, bringing the total cumulative amount to 569 million KRW.

A total of 2,115 donors participated in the Cheongdo hometown love donation program, among whom 56 were major donors contributing over 1 million KRW each.

By region, the neighboring Daegu Metropolitan City had the highest number of donors with 581 people (27%), followed by Gyeongsangbuk-do with 486 people (23%) who also showed great support for Cheongdo.

In addition to the nearby Gyeongbuk and Daegu regions, donations continued from all over the country including Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Ulsan, and Busan.

Cheongdo-gun plans to use the raised funds to support projects such as the ‘Replacement Support Project for Wheelchair Lift Buses for the Disabled’ and the ‘Support Project for Pediatric and Adolescent Clinics,’ allocating 170 million KRW for these target initiatives aimed at socially vulnerable groups and youth.

Meanwhile, starting in 2025, the hometown love donation program will increase the donation cap from 5 million KRW to 20 million KRW. Individuals who donate to local governments other than their current residence can receive local specialty products as thank-you gifts within 30% of the donation amount, receive a full tax deduction up to 100,000 KRW, and a 16.5% tax credit on the excess amount, making it a win-win donation system.

Donations can be made by accessing the Hometown Love e-Um website or through face-to-face service at any NongHyup Bank branch nationwide.

Kim Hasu, the mayor of Cheongdo-gun, said, “We sincerely thank all donors for their warm hearts loving Cheongdo. We will use the hometown love funds as valuable resources for projects that resonate with residents and donors, making this an opportunity to revitalize the hometown love donation program and promote regional development.”
