On the 5th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon strongly criticized the National Assembly's impeachment prosecution team for effectively withdrawing the charge of treason in the impeachment reasons against President Yoon Seok-yeol. Mayor Oh claimed this was a "political calculation by Lee Jae-myung to hasten the impeachment and become president before his own trial verdict is announced."

On the same day, Mayor Oh pointed out on Facebook, "Representative Lee never misses mentioning 'treason' in his statements, but says he will exclude 'treason' in the impeachment trial," criticizing Lee Jae-myung's political calculation as an intention to expedite impeachment. He added, "Lee seems to be not just a double-talker but more like a ninety-talker," and said that Lee's desire for power is shaking the legal system of the Republic of Korea. He also emphasized that administrative and livelihood gaps will be prevented.

Furthermore, Mayor Oh took a firm stance on illegal protests. He pointed out the incident where protesters occupied the tram lane in front of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s residence and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (Minnocho) assaulted the police as "illegal and a weakening of public authority," emphasizing, "Illegal and violent protests will never be tolerated."

Mayor Oh mentioned citizens' discomfort due to traffic paralysis and excessive noise caused by protests in major downtown areas of Seoul, stating, "Public authority must be strictly enforced for public safety." He also confirmed that he had consulted with the acting commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to actively respond to violations of the Assembly and Demonstration Act.

Lastly, regarding the heavy snow warning issued in Seoul, Mayor Oh stated, "We will thoroughly manage not only main roads but also vulnerable icy sections such as hills to minimize citizen inconvenience," and added, "We will also make every effort to ensure the safety management of vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and homeless people."
