On New Year's Day, a skeletonized body was found on a mountain in Geoje, Gyeongnam, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

According to the Geoje Police Station on the 3rd, at around 2:45 p.m. on the 1st, a hiker descending along a slope next to a trail on a mountain in Okpo-dong, Geoje City, discovered the skeletonized body.

The location where the skeletonized body was found is understood to be a rarely traveled mountain path.

The police plan to estimate the age and gender through an autopsy and DNA testing, and then confirm the identity by comparing with missing persons.
