New Preferential Treatment Regulations Established for Model Taxpayers in Chungnam Who Paid Taxes to the City

On December 13, 2023, Dangjin City in South Chungcheong Province promulgated a partial amendment to the "Dangjin City Ordinance on Support for Faithful Taxpayers."
This ordinance was revised to provide preferential treatment and support for exemplary taxpayers who pay taxes to Dangjin City, specifically regarding the use of city-operated facilities.
The main content of this partial amendment includes exempting parking fees for up to 2 hours at paid public parking lots in Dangjin City for one personal or corporate vehicle owned by an exemplary taxpayer of South Chungcheong Province. If the parking time exceeds 2 hours, a 50% discount will be applied from that point onward.
Additionally, a new provision was established to offer a 50% discount on admission fees for performances and exhibitions hosted by the Dangjin Culture and Arts Center (up to 2 tickets including the taxpayer for individual exemplary taxpayers, and up to 20 tickets under the corporate name for corporate exemplary taxpayers; for tickets exceeding 20, a 30% group discount applies).
Furthermore, a new regulation was introduced to provide a 50% discount on the use of public camping facilities in Dangjin City (with no limit on the number of times for individuals, but limited to twice a year for corporations). As a result, Article 5, Paragraph 2, Items 1 to 3 of the "Dangjin City Ordinance on Support for Faithful Taxpayers" was partially amended or newly established to provide preferential treatment and support for exemplary taxpayers of South Chungcheong Province who pay taxes to Dangjin City.
Kim Insik, Head of the Taxation Division, stated, "We are grateful to the exemplary taxpayers of South Chungcheong Province who have fulfilled their tax obligations and faithfully paid local taxes despite the difficult economic situation in the region," and added, "We will continue to strive to foster a culture of faithful tax payment and implement advanced tax administration to promote taxpayer rights."
Meanwhile, among the exemplary taxpayers of South Chungcheong Province for 2024, a total of 580 individuals and corporations (314 individuals and 266 corporations) have been selected in Dangjin City. The preferential and designated period is for one year, from January 1 to December 31, 2024.
