Criticism Continues on Kim Heung-guk's YouTube
Kim Heung-guk Replies, "Are You the Only Marines?"
Singer Kim Heung-guk directly responded after criticism continued against him following his attendance at the rally to 'Prevent the Illegal Arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol.'
On the 3rd, comments criticizing Kim Heung-guk, who publicly supported President Yoon, were posted on Kim Heung-guk's YouTube channel 'Kim Heung-guk Deulidae TV.' One netizen wrote, "After the Chae Sang-byeong incident, Marine Corps seniors and juniors decided no longer to recognize Kim Heung-guk as a Marine. Please do not mention Marine Corps seniors and juniors again in political gatherings," to which Kim Heung-guk replied, "Are you the only Marines?"
Another netizen said, "The shame of the Marine Corps! The shame of the Korean entertainment industry! The shame of the Korean people! That is Kim Heung-guk," and Kim Heung-guk responded, "Who do you think you are?" Additionally, a netizen who identified themselves as a Marine Corps 737th class member said, "Please live without embarrassing the Marine Corps. Also, please do not talk about the Marines," to which Kim Heung-guk replied, "You should live quietly."
Earlier, on the 2nd, Kim Heung-guk attended the rally held around the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to 'Prevent the Illegal Arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol,' appealing for support for President Yoon. He expressed his difficulties, saying, "I am attacked daily on YouTube. They call my hit song 'Horangnabi' (Tiger Butterfly) 'Gyeomnabi' (Martial Law Butterfly), and some even call it 'Naerannabi' (Rebellion Butterfly), so I can't live." He added, "I am a Marine Corps veteran," and said, "I learned that when the country is in trouble and the people are struggling, the Republic of Korea Marine Corps is the first to stand up and protect the country." He then raised his voice, saying, "All Marine Corps seniors and juniors nationwide and worldwide, gather in Hannam-dong."
Kim Heung-guk also claimed, "President Yoon, who is at the residence, must be having a hard time every day. I saw a letter yesterday, and who else would fight to the end thanks to you all? Is there any president who has done better than this person in two and a half years?"
Meanwhile, President Yoon faces charges of declaring the unconstitutional and illegal December 3rd emergency martial law and mobilizing military and police forces to incite a riot with the intent to disrupt the national order (charges of rebellion leader and abuse of power). The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) requested arrest and search warrants from the court after President Yoon failed to appear for three summonses, and the warrants were issued on the 31st of last month.
