Kia Achieves Record Annual Sales with 3.09 Million Units Sold Globally Last Year

Kia has recorded its highest-ever annual sales performance since it began selling automobiles in 1962.


On the 2nd, Kia announced that it sold a total of 3,089,457 vehicles in the global market last year. This figure represents a 0.1% increase compared to 2023 and breaks the previous annual sales record (3,087,384 units in 2023) within just one year.

It sold 540,010 units domestically, 2,543,361 units overseas, and 6,086 special vehicles. Compared to the previous year, domestic sales decreased by 4.2%, while overseas sales increased by 1.0%.


The best-selling vehicle in the global market last year was the Sportage, with 587,717 units sold. The Seltos followed with 312,246 units, and the Sorento with 280,705 units.


Domestically, 540,010 units were sold, a 4.2% decrease from the previous year. The best-selling vehicle in the domestic market last year was the Sorento, with 94,538 units sold, followed by the Carnival (82,748 units) and the Sportage (74,255 units).


Overseas sales increased by 1.0% to 2,543,361 units. The best-selling vehicle overseas was the Sportage, with 513,462 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 250,349 units, and the K3 (including K4) with 234,320 units.


Kia plans to continue brand- and customer-focused management and active investment in future technologies this year. Through expanding the lineup of economical electric vehicles (EVs), successfully launching PBVs (Purpose Built Vehicles), and releasing strategic models (such as Tasman and Syros), Kia aims to sustain sales growth and maintain its status as a leading electrification brand.


Kia has set its global sales target for this year at 3,216,200 units, about 0.5% higher than last year. The targets are 550,000 units domestically, 2,658,000 units overseas, and 8,200 special vehicles.
