57% Execution Rate, Highest Level in the First Half of the Year

Major public institutions plan to execute investments totaling 66 trillion won this year. In the first half of the year, they aim to swiftly execute 37.6 trillion won, which is 57% of the investment target, to support economic recovery.

On the 3rd, the Ministry of Economy and Finance held the "2025 1st Public Institution Investment Execution Review Meeting" chaired by Ahn Sang-yeol, Director General of Fiscal Management, to discuss this year's investment execution plans for major public institutions. Director General Ahn urged public institutions to play an active role in supporting economic recovery, requesting concentrated investment execution in the first half of the year and meticulous management of execution.

This year's investment target (66 trillion won) is 2.5 trillion won higher than last year's target (63.5 trillion won). In particular, 37.6 trillion won, about 57% of the investment plan, is scheduled to be executed in the first half of the year. This is 2.7 trillion won more than the first half target last year (34.9 trillion won), marking the highest-ever scale of execution in the first half.

Major public institutions plan to focus their investments this year on projects aimed at ensuring national housing stability, and building energy, transportation, and logistics infrastructure.

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will invest 21.6 trillion won in housing supply projects, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) will invest 11.9 trillion won in power transmission and distribution projects, Korea National Railway will invest 6.2 trillion won in railway construction and facility upgrades, and Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) will invest 2.3 trillion won to support household recovery and corporate normalization.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance will check investment execution performance weekly and hold review meetings at least once a month to intensively manage the investment execution status of public institutions.
