Guri-si Secures 3.86 Billion KRW in Gyeonggi-do Special Adjustment Grants

Securing Budget for a Total of 8 Projects Including the Creation of an Observation Walkway within Wangsukcheon Embankment

Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 3rd that it has secured 3.86 billion KRW in special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province.

The targeted projects include ▲Wangsukcheon embankment observation deck walkway construction project (500 million KRW) ▲Pedestrian walkway improvement project for the transportation vulnerable (700 million KRW) ▲Guri City Comprehensive Social Welfare Center heating and cooling environment improvement (260 million KRW) ▲Installation of a planetarium at Inchang Library Observatory (500 million KRW) ▲Artificial turf soccer field construction at Citizen’s Stadium (1.2 billion KRW) ▲Wangsukcheon disabled park golf course environment improvement project (150 million KRW) ▲Replacement of artificial turf at Guri Square (200 million KRW) ▲Installation of LED disaster information display board under Topyeonggyo Bridge (350 million KRW), totaling 8 projects.


In particular, the artificial turf soccer field construction project at Citizen’s Stadium achieved the result of securing 3.26 billion KRW in external funding out of the total project cost of 4.2 billion KRW, including 1.26 billion KRW already secured from provincial funds and 800 million KRW in special grants.


Additionally, through securing this grant, the installation of a deck walkway along the Wangsukcheon embankment in the area of 306-5 Sutaek-dong and the LED disaster information display board installation project linked with the lighting gallery construction under Topyeonggyo Bridge will be smoothly promoted, allowing citizens to walk along Wangsukcheon more comfortably and safely while enjoying rest and leisure.


Furthermore, the planetarium that can be observed during the day or in rainy weather will be installed at the Inchang Library Observatory, which officially opens on the 13th, and the artificial turf at Guri Square near Guri Station on Subway Line 8 will be replaced, greatly contributing to citizens’ cultural experiences and health promotion.


Moreover, by securing budgets for various projects such as replacing the old heating and cooling system in the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, installing portable restrooms at the disabled park golf course along Wangsukcheon, and replacing old fences and installing smart crosswalk systems at 10 locations including around Topyeong Elementary School, the city plans to lay the foundation for stronger protection measures for socially vulnerable groups.


Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “I am pleased to have secured the special adjustment grant from Gyeonggi Province despite the city’s difficult financial situation due to domestic and international economic uncertainties,” and added, “We will promptly proceed with the projects to ensure citizens’ safety and improve their quality of life.”
